"Half of a good photo is the clothes." It's true. For a photo shoot in Kyoto, choosing the right outfit matters more than any editing trick.
🌸 Spring (March–May)

Temperature: March 5–15°C, April 10–20°C, May 15–25°C.
- Cherry blossom season: white, beige or light pink dresses
- Everyday: a light trench coat with a dress, or a knit cardigan with wide-leg trousers
- Kimono: a light-colored homongi or kofurisode
☀️ Summer (June–August)
Temperature: hot and humid; June is the rainy season, and July–August can go above 35°C.
- Rainy season: a light, thin dress in pale colors; a clear umbrella makes a great prop
- Midsummer: a white linen dress, or a shirt with wide-leg trousers
- Yukata: a bright yukata with a simple updo feels like pure summer
🍁 Autumn (September–November)

Temperature: September 20–30°C, October 15–25°C, November 5–15°C.
- Early autumn: a shirt with a skirt, or a light khaki trench coat
- Autumn leaf season: an off-white wool coat with a sweater
- Kimono: navy, dark green, brown — the best match for autumn colors
- Avoid: bright red and orange — they blend into the leaves
❄️ Winter (December–February)

Temperature: dry and cold, with lows around 0°C.
- Stay warm: a coat, turtleneck sweater, scarf and thermal underwear
- Colors: oatmeal, camel, wine red, dark green
- For snow: a red scarf with a white coat — a strong contrast with the snow
💡 Quick matching chart: Gion (gray-brown backdrop) → white, beige, pink; Fushimi Inari (red) → white, black, navy; Arashiyama bamboo (green) → white, pale yellow, beige; cherry blossom season (pink) → white, light blue; autumn leaves (red-orange) → off-white, khaki, navy.
